“Get involved” is my mantra, and I have, from peddling pumpkins as a fundraiser for the Children’s Home farm, to singing in the choir at Centenary United Methodist Church, to serving on the Board of Management at William G. White YMCA, and to volunteering with Community Roots Day and the Big Sweep. I am convinced that there is something to do in Winston-Salem and environs every single day (or night) - all you have to do is look for it and go.
I graduated from Salem Academy, UNC - Chapel Hill, and most recently, City of Winston-Salem University (do it – it’s great). After a brief stint in the hospitality industry on Cape Cod, I returned home. My career has included sales at Sir Speedy Printing, admissions at Arbor Acres Retirement Community, and Creative Services at Hanesbrands, Inc. I loved the same things about each position: getting to know my clients, listening to them, understanding their needs, and going above and beyond to make sure their goals were met and expectations surpassed. I look forward to bringing that same commitment to service to you, whether you are listing or buying a home.
Always open minded and willing for a new adventure, I went on a blind date with a man in 2015, and two years later married him. Today Scott is both my life and business partner. I was born in a small town on the banks of the Susquehanna River in PA and raised in Lancaster. After graduating from Penn State, I moved to Winston-Salem in 1976 to get my MBA at Wake Forest. I loved Winston-Salem so much that I never left. I guess almost 45 years makes me a "Local Agent" with "Local Knowledge."
My first job was in sales with IBM where I fell in love with technology. After a few years with IBM, I left to begin a 30 year career in business startups almost exclusively in information systems.
I am the proud “grandpa” of four grand children living in Atlanta. You can call me Grandpa if you like.
